Community Bank Southern Peninsula Grant
The Rotary Club of Dromana was recently successful in gaining a $5,000 grant for the MANA Youth Project from the Community Bank Southern Peninsula as part of their broad program investing in the local community. MANA Youth Project offers an Akademy club system as a structured extracurricular program that fosters mentorship, skill development, and leadership among youth in our community on the Mornington Peninsula. It provides a high-quality learning and social environment for young people to pursue their interests, build skill capacity, and meet new friends.
Our Club became interested in the work of Rick Boland, the founder of MANA Youth Project, when a couple of members heard of his struggle to keep this important activity financially afloat. Thankfully we have been successful in gaining the grant which will assit Rick in practical expenses like rent but also provide some funds to buy art supplies etc for the children to use.
Our members, Marion Trevellyan and Pauline Porcaro, attended the Bank Awards event on Wednesday 29 May with Rick Bolland and Glyn Atkin from the MANA Akademy. We look forward to auspicing the grant and working with Rick to further build his program.
More information on the Mana Youth Project can be found on their website https://manayouthproject.com/
The Rotary Club of Dromana would like to wholeheartedly thank the Community Bank Southern Peninsula for their support of this valuable youth program.
