It was with great joy and pride, that our tiny house was launched last Friday at the Salvation Army in Rosebud. Although we auspiced the Tiny House from the beginning and were instrumental in the build, it makes sense that the house be managed by a group connected to the housing needs in our community and we are so grateful that the Salvation Arrmy will now find the appropriate tenant for the house and be able to provide a beautiful little home for someone in need.
The house was open for public inspection at the launch and we were all thrlled to not only see the standard of the build, but, to see the care that has gone into making it a home with beautiful design touches.
None of this would have happened without the focus and determination of our member, Greg Fitzgerald, and the former Mayor, Simon Brooks. They have been with the project from the start and have worked tirelessly to design and present a tiny house that will now be used as a prototype for other tiny homes for people in need. Our Rotary Club of Dromana has also worked tirelessly to raise the funds to build the house and everyone should be thanked and congratulated for their efforts.
Thankfully Rotary members continue to work tirelessly for our community and this is a fabulous outcome for their voluntary work. If you’d like to join us and contribute to community projects, please reach out or come along to one of our meetings.at the new venue, The Dromana Community Hall, 2A Verdon Street, Dromana, held on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 6:00 pm for a 6:30 pm start, finishing promptly at 8:00 pm.
