Our recent guest at the Rotary Club of Dromana was Monique Story who tragically lost two of her sons to mental health, bearing immeasurable grief that no mother should have to endure. However, from such tragedy, Monique commenced Quinn’s Place in memory of her youngest son. Quinn’s Place offers a fun, safe hangout space for teenage kids every Friday night in term time at no cost. Offering good old fashioned fun with pool tables, table tennis, badminton, a music room, and board games to name some of the activities, kids have a safe place in their own community to make new friends and simply enjoy a gathering space together. Monique is funded solely through donations and her own funds.

It was heartwarming and heartbreaking all at once to hear her story and we  were honoured to share Quinn’s 21st birthday date with her. Certainly we would recommend Quinn’s Place to our local teenagers and we look forward to working with Monique in the future to build upon her amazing work.
